The marching band season is a very rewarding, but demanding experience. We need a lot of help to ensure everything runs smoothly.

STEP ONE:
First, you must be an approved volunteer with the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School system. Even if you were an approved volunteer last year, you must re-register each school year.

STEP TWO:

Co-chairs: Oversee all aspects of marching band, liaison between band director and parents. Some of the below can go under these, just wanted to put it all out there then decide.
Event Coordinator: Plan 8th grade night, Senior Night, Lockin & Banquet events
Volunteer Coordinator: Recruit volunteers, manage sign-ups and make sure each coordinator has information needed, and organizes volunteer appreciation events
Meal Coordinator: Be the contact with Jason’s Deli about box meals for students prior to home games. They will set up webpage and provide link to you. You need to let them know time for delivery and dates of all games. Note-suggest they add a spot on individual order for driver tip.
Prop Coordinator: Work with band director to decide and build props. Organize prop volunteers to transport prop and place on field for games and competitions.
Uniform Coordinator: Oversee uniform closet, assist in fittings during band camp, lead other uniform volunteers, distribute uniforms prior to events, and help band dress at game and competitions. Coordinate bagging of uniforms prior to competitions.
Pit Crew Coordinator: Work with Pit to design placement of pit instruments in transportation truck. Oversee volunteers to help with the transport of instruments and placement of PIT on field prior to performances. Will also coordinate the removal from field and reloading for the school.
Fundraising Coordinator: Establish and oversee Marching Band booster fundraising.
Spiritwear Coordinator: Help secure design for show shirt (and additional fun spirit wear). Create order forms and setup online payment with website coordinator. Order spirit wear and have available prior to games and for fundraising.
Alumni Coordinator: Create and maintain database of Marching Band Alumni. Contact and update via social media to keep them involved in marching band events, homecoming, and future band needs.
Media/Webpage coordinator: Keep webpage up to date, and coordinate social media posts
Parent Social Coordinator: Coordinate events for marching band parents-During camp parent social to recruit new volunteers, at end of season-wrap party for volunteers.
